Natural Light Workshop

Well, I've realized that I need to learn more about shooting in natural light if I'm going to improve my photography. But, since funds are limited I'm entering a contest to win a free seat in a Natural Light Workshop. The theme for the contest is Pastel Colors. Since I really am brand new to this whole photography thing, I think my chances of winning are slim, but these are my two entries:
